Welcome

Dear Guest,

Welcome to Beaver Run Resort & Conference Center. We love Breckenridge and hope you’ll enjoy your stay at our mountain home sweet home. We think Beaver Run is the best location in Breckenridge, nestled between the mountain and Breckenridge Main Street.

Your unit is individually owned and professionally managed by Beaver Run. If you need anything during your stay, please reach out to the Beaver Run front desk (dial “0”).
The Beaver Run concierge and guest services team is here to help with any recommendations or reservations (dial “0”).

Here are a few reminders and some our favorite tips for enjoying your stay:

COURTESY SHUTTLES: Beaver Run offers free shuttle buses into and around town. Contact the front desk (dial“0”) to inquire about hours and availability.

FREE SKI LOCKERS (in winter): Don’t forget about the free ski lockers, located just steps, just 25 or so, from the Beaver Run SuperChair lift. Please don’t bring your skis or snowboards or other gear into our home. (We love to have walls and doors without dings, holes and damage!)

QUICK TO-GO MEALS: For a quick, easy meal, especially on the night of your arrival, we recommend ordering a takeout pizza from the Skywalk Market & Deli right here at Beaver Run. Or, check out the other grab n’ go options from the Skywalk Market or the takeout options from Spencer’s Restaurant. Here’s another local’s hint: The lunch buffet at Spencer’s is one of the fastest and most delicious meals on the mountain. (Shhh!) Make sure to check the hours and menus online, especially during our off-peak times here at Beaver Run.

FORGET SOMETHING: If you forgot toothpaste, snacks or anything else, check out the Skywalk Market & Deli – it’s stocked with treats, groceries, essential items and even beer and wine for you to enjoy. If you need any outdoor wear (like gloves, goggles or hats in the winter) or gear, Breck Sports is located on site andcan help. Pretty convenient, eh?SPECIAL DISCOUNTS & OFFERS FOR YOU: Beaver Run has special offers & discounts just for you – our Beaver Run guest. Make sure to ask the Front Desk about special guest discounts and offers during your stay.

RELAX: One of our favorite things to do after a day of hiking in the summer or skiing in the winter is to soak in one of Beaver Run’s hot tubs. (There are 9 hot tubs!) We also can’t wait for another massage and soaking in the Spa at Beaver Run’s salt water tub. Make a reservation and enjoy!

OUR FAVORITE ACTIVITIES: There’s really too much to list here, but we’ll give you the highlights: we LOVE the pools, hot tub and arcade with mini golf here at Beaver Run. Don’t miss the hiking in the summer, especially to the local waterfalls or to the troll sculpture (check out the Beaver Run blog, GoBreck’s website or the concierge). And, in winter – well, the skiing and snowboarding is the best in the world. But, there’s also dog sledding, snowmobiling, ice skating and so, so much more. Make sure to spend some time strolling down Main Street, too!

There’s a lot more information located here.

We hope you LOVE your stay here at Beaver Run. If so, please let us know and feel free to leave a positive review on TripAdvisor or online. If you need anything to make your stay more comfortable or enjoyable, reach out to Beaver Run’s friendly team (dial “0”).

Thanks!
Your Beaver Run host (and owner of this unit), along with the Beaver Run team

Safety and Security

WHEN YOU GET TO YOUR ROOM . . .
PLAN AHEAD FOR AN EMERGENCY. KNOW TWO WAYS OUT!

  1. Walk to the exits. Count the doors. Note any turns or “landmarks” that could help you locate your way in the dark or smoke.

  2. Never use the elevators in the event of a fire.

  3. Check to be certain that the exits are unlocked and not blocked.

  4. Place your room key where you can find it easily, even in the dark. Don’t leave your room without it; you may have to return if the exits are unusable.

  5. Advance knowledge and precaution will lessen the chance of panic or confusion in the event of a real fire.

  6. Dial “0” if you observe any unsafe conditions.

  7. Lobby areas are designated safe assembly areas during inclement weather.

Each guest room has individual smoke detectors monitored at the front desk 24 hours a day. If your detector becomes activated, investigate! The activation of the detector may have been caused by burnt food or a closed fireplace flue when attempting to start a fire. To clear smoke from the room for these reasons, you may open any windows and the balcony door. DO NOT open your room entry door, as this may set off a detector in the hallway thus activating the fire alarm for the entire building. f you discover an actual life-threatening fire, leave the room immediately. In the event your room detector activates, please Dial 0 for assistance. Whenever any building alarm is activated, the Fire Department is notified and Security will respond the moment the alarm is activated!

IN CASE OF FIRE, DIAL “0” FOR HOTEL OPERATOR
In the event of a fire, feel the door and doorknob to determine if it is hot. Look to see if smoke is coming in from around the door.

IF BUILDING FIRE ALARM SOUNDS AND DOOR IS COOL AND THERE IS NO SMOKE, LEAVE YOUR ROOM.

  1. Open door slowly, with face away from opening, and be ready to close door quickly if necessary.

  2. Check the hall. If everything is clear, walk to the nearest exit, taking your room key with you. Close the door behind you to protect your belongings.

  3. If smoke is encountered, crawl - don’t walk - to the nearest exit. Make sure you can locate your room from the floor if you have to return. Stay close to the wall and count the doorways to the nearest exit.

  4. Proceed rapidly to the ground level. Running can cause accidents and create injuries. Hold the handrail to protect yourself from falling or being knocked down by other people.

  5. If you encounter heavy smoke on lower levels, turn around and return to your room or a safe floor.

  6. Once you are safely out of the building, you will be directed to a secure location.

IF BUILDING FIRE ALARM SOUNDS AND DOOR IS HOT OR THERE IS SMOKE - STAY IN YOUR ROOM.

  1. Open a window to vent the smoke.

  2. Fill the bathtub with water. Place wet towels, sheets or clothing at the bottom of doors and other vents. Toss water from ice buckets or waste baskets on the door to keep it cool.

  3. Stay as low to the floor as possible, as both visible and invisible gases tend to rise and can be very dangerous.

  4. Get fresh air. Make a tent over your head with a blanket at a slightly opened window.

  5. Use cell phone to dial 911. Dial “0” to notify operator that you are unable to leave your room.

  6. Hang a bedsheet out the window to indicate that the room is occupied.

  7. Be calm. Rescue may be only moments away.

High Altitude Information

If any of the following symptoms or conditions worsen, or if you are concerned about your health, please seek medical attention. Doctors in this area have treated altitude illness and may well be able to ease your discomfort during your high-altitude acclimation.

Sun and Temperature
The sun is much more intense at this altitude and a sunburn can be very serious. Use sunblock even on cloudy days. Remember that a bright sunny day can mean warm daytime air temperatures, but when the sun goes down in the afternoon, the temperature drops suddenly and drastically. Take extra warm clothes if there’s a chance you’ll be outside after dark.

Hypothermia, which is low body temperature, is a condition that knows no season. It can occur in summer or winter if you are wet or chilled by even a slight breeze. Hypothermia is also the result of being overtired and undernourished — so eat and sleep well. The signs of hypothermia are clumsiness, difficulty thinking or talking clearly and overwhelming fatigue. Remember the buddy system — watch out for each other, and if these warning signs do appear, stop, get warm, eat, drink something warm if possible and, if necessary, call for help immediately.

Warm clothes are essential, and so are clothes that fit properly. Make sure gloves and boots are not too tight, and try not to let them get wet. If you lose feeling in your extremities (fingers, toes, cheeks, ears and nose), stop and check for frostnip, which is cold, white and numb skin. Take time to warm up and avoid real trouble, frostbite.

Wear sunglasses or goggles even on a cloudy day. Reflected light, glare and ultraviolet rays from our bright sun can cause snowblindness.

Humidity
Mountain air is dry and crisp, and while it is invigorating, you’ll lose more body moisture from deeper breathing and increased perspiration. It’s important to keep your body hydrated, and experts recommend you drink two to three times your normal intake of water and juices. Go easy on alcohol and caffeinated beverages - alcohol is felt much more intensely at this altitude. Both alcohol and caffeine are dehydrating.

If you wear contact lenses, you’ll notice your eyes are dryer than at lower elevations. Compensate by using drops, and remove the lenses more frequently to oxygenate your eyes.

Injuries
It’s common knowledge that accidents happen more often when you’re cold, tired and hungry. Keep that in mind when participating in sports, both summer and winter. Rest when your body tells you it’s time - or even before. Don’t keep going if you’re overtired or without food and water.

Illness
While the altitude can cause any number of symptoms, it’s not to blame for everything. Remember, colds, flu and other common illnesses occur in the high country. See a physician if you’re in doubt. Our doctors can handle most medical situations that arise, but emergency transportation (helicopter and ambulances) are at the ready if the need exists. Above all else, call for help if you have any doubts at all.
